He's a UFA this summer, so isn't prorated anyway? 3.5 mill * 0.5 of a season * retaining half = $875K. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my understanding.

Why is it of any consequence whether we're keeping half of Dubnyk's salary or not?

A) We've got tons of Cap Space
B) The Cap Hit is a paltry 1.75 for the next two months, and the pro-rated salary is about 900k.
C) None of you are Darryl Katz
